2020 Harley-Davidson Touring Electra Glide Standard

The 2020 Harley-Davidson Touring Electra Glide Standard has an intentionally simple design. It has lots of potential for upgrades, making it perfect for those who want to start basic and build a bike that suits their needs and tastes perfectly. Let’s explore the features of the Touring Electra Glide Standard.

Trim Levels (Exterior)

This bike features curves in all the right places. Even though it only comes in Vivid Black, it has an eye-catching appeal, with attractive polished chrome that accents the black paint beautifully. With its iconic batwing fairing and mid-height windshield, it looks good rolling down the street. The single round LED headlamp sits low in the fairing, giving this bike an aggressive stance, and the LED taillamp and turn signals leave an impression. Up front is a 17-inch Impeller cast aluminum wheel, while the back has a 16-inch Impeller cast aluminum wheel.

The simplicity of the 2020 Touring Electra Glide Standard extends to its seating and technology features. To help you stay focused on the road and to limit distractions, there’s no infotainment system. Instead, you can make use of the small glove compartment to store items you want to keep track of. Conveniently placed just above the glove compartment are four gauges that will show you things like your speed, fuel level, and which gear you’re in so that you can keep your eyes on the road where they belong.

You’ll have no problem taking this bike on long tours due to its comfortable solo touring seat. Additionally, the mid-height windshield offers plenty of protection against the elements when you’re cruising down the highway, and the fairing helps reduce head buffeting. You’ll also have 2.3 cubic feet of storage space in the saddlebags, so you can bring what you need on your trip.

Engine (Power)

Just because the Harley-Davidson Touring Electra Glide Standard has a simple design doesn’t mean it’s lacking in power. The air-cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin engine provides riders with all the power they need. It puts out 111 pound-feet of torque at 3,250 rpm and has a crisp, clean throttle response when accelerating. You’ll enjoy an estimated 43 mpg, which means you can go far on the six gallons the fuel tank holds.

This bike offers a smooth ride, thanks to the emulsion technology used in the rear shock absorbers. They provide an easy-to-use pre-load adjuster to put you in control of your riding experience. Further enhancing the smooth ride is the 49-millimeter front fork with dual bending valve suspension which makes turning the wheel a breeze.

Safety Features

Because this motorcycle is kept basic for easy customization, safety features are limited. However, you can opt for an anti-lock brake system that helps you stay in control of your bike when braking. The brakes work independently on the front and rear wheels, which prevents the wheels from locking up and keeps you in control. This bike is also fairly lightweight at 820 pounds, making it easy to control and maneuver around town.
